July 2   Yellowstone

We got up eventually and I was all packed so there wasn’t much to worry about. We booked out and left for Yellowstone. I was so exited! We drove and drove and then we spotted the Welcome To Yellowstone sign. OMG! We carried on and got to the tollbooths and got our slips and carried on. We drove a little further and this cute little buck was on one of the hills. Instinctively got out and took loads of photos. It was a female mule deer. Jessica was practically a free tour guide the whole time. She new a lot and when she didn’t she was looking in the books about Yellowstone. We drove on we knew that we were not going to see many bears, wolves, coyotes or moose. Even seeing ONE would be fantastic. We were discussing this when we saw loads and loads of cars! We kept asking each there what it was when Wouter said It’s a bear. We did ask if he was sure and he answered that he was certain. We abandoned the car and took so many photos. It was a long way away and really difficult to photograph. Especially when the grizzly kept going behind the trees and bushes. We were the most psyched people ever! We traveled a little more and mom spotted some buck on the left they were far away and were difficult to photograph. The odd thing was that all the people in the other cars were gaping at the right side. Suddenly we turn around and a few feet away are the cutest little buck things in the world (we found out later they were Elk). I got the privilege of taking the photos and movies. I was busy filming this cute little Elk making the cutest noises in the world. When suddenly huge mothers of Elk appear (ha the pun is that they were actually the mothers o the elk). I got quite a fright because my view of the whole situation was the screen on mom’s camera so that was quite scary! For the first hour in Yellowstone that was amazing! Now my ultimate favourite-that is very very common but still photo worthy every time-Bison! They may appear ugly but they are so cute and have the most personality ever! We saw A LOT of Bison. But they were so hard to resist! No wonder they had to put signs up everywhere saying Do Not Touch The Bison and Bison Are Wild, Dangerous Animals. Do Not Pet. I could’ve taken one of the small ones and trained it. Mom reminded me that they don’t really like people doing that so I didn’t. On our way to the campsite we spotted a lot of people and we saw nothing. It was really weird so we stopped. Even Wouter couldn’t see anything when suddenly I spotted this white dog looking thing. I showed everyone. Mom said it was a dog but when it came closer she had a change of heart. She got out and stayed the minimum 25ft away while the other idiotic tourist and Americans went closer and closer. It was a very sweet looking coyote. It had found something to eat more interesting than the stupid tourists. We went and set up our camp on the relatively straight ground (or so we thought. We did find out later that night not so much.) Jessica had banned me from the tent because I had done something to make her angry. It was stupid and while she set up the tent I only had to put my chair in the car down get a pillow and my sleeping bag. Although later mom said I had to sleep in the tent because I would have to leave a window a little open and then I’d get bombarded with mosquitoes which were already eating me alive! That night we just ate our supper went for a little dusk stroll (not really a stroll if its in the car but what ever). Nothing exiting but there was beautiful scenery. We then slept. We agreed to wake up early.
