Hi Angel
First of all, let me say that your blogging is excellent, totally WICKED and awsome! You have written so well, about the good stuff and the downright nasty stuff too – which leads me to say:
Yes, it is terrible news about Janice and I am very sorry that we have not been able to respond to you more promptly. We had a 33 (yes, thirty three!) hour electricity cut here over the past two days and so have not had easy access to internet. Can’t really give you any more news at the moment. Steve has not been at forthcoming with any information either during her stay in hospital or after. All info has been relayed through Angela. Dad is taking it very hard. He and Janice had been friends for 30 years, since they were teenagers, so you can imagine how hard it is to say goodbye to your friend and to the woman who was your first love and your wife.
So, we keep strong. We remember the good times and we celebrate them and we mourn her loss, each in our own way and until we are done and have dealt with it completely.
There will be a private funeral, but also a memorial service at the Masque Theatre foyer on Sunday 10 July at 15h00, which is great news for you as you will be able to get some rest beforehand.
I know, I really do, how hard it is to have fun when you feel so sad deep down. All I can say is DO NOT FEEL GUILTY about having fun and feeling good. Firstly, Janice would tell you to stop being silly – she would not want anybody to be miserable! Secondly, life does actually, really and truly go on!!! Even though it feels wrong sometimes, we must remember that we are still here (or, in your case, there!)and it’s not disrespectful to get on with life.
I hope that this will help in some way. Please share it with Jessica. I don’t want to type it all out again and we think there may be a problem with her blog as it is not updating (or is she just bored with writing? :))
Have a Mickey Mouse Ball for the rest of the trip. Can’t wait to see you both. Auntie Rosie is nearly all moved in and the house warming went brilliantly. Thanx so very much for the sms with good wishes. Everybody missed you on the day so you were thought about and we drank a toast to your good holiday.
Big, huge air hugs from us all.
Love
